First Time For Some Tongue

Last week, my girlfriends and I decided to dine out at 508NYC. It’s a really cute spot in Tribeca with an elevated chef table in the back (brownie points for that). Cocktails were flowing and somehow we managed to order the most bazaar dish on the menu.

Although our waiter thought we were a little nutty for all of the ridiculous questions we were asking, little did he know that one of the “beautiful models” would turn out to be a food blogger!

We started with Crispy Cow Tongue. We were told that the tongue was slow braised for about five hours, then lightly breaded and fried off before being topped with sliced onions and Thai sweet-n-sour sauce.

Although my friend Lenny and I were a tab bit skeptical at first, the tongue was a big hit for all the others at the table (not so much for me).
