Chinatown Bound

Chinatown is one of the oldest and coolest neighborhoods in Manhattan. With so many different shops and restaurants, time really flies when you’re there. Between the fish markets, fresh produce, and let’s not forget the knockoffs (PSA: Don’t buy the knockoffs! They’re not real.). Chinatown offers it all.

Amy Ruth’s

When it comes to good ol’ soul food, Amy Ruth’s is the restaurant that has the locals and tourist waiting outside for several hours on a Sunday afternoon.

Spanish Harlem Celebrates Cinco De Mayo

Today on 116th Street in Spanish Harlem, I was surprised to find everyone celebrating the Day of Independence for Mexico. Cinco De Mayo is now one of my favorite celebrations. It’s best of both worlds — great cheap street food, cocktails with tequila, and maybe a little more tequila, and oh, I forgot to mention tequila!

First Time For Some Tongue

Last week, my girlfriends and I decided to dine out at 508NYC. It’s a really cute spot in Tribeca with an elevated chef table in the back (brownie points for that). Cocktails were flowing and somehow we managed to order the most bazaar dish on the menu.

Although our waiter thought we were a little nutty for all of the ridiculous questions we were asking, little did he know that one of the “beautiful models” would turn out to be a food blogger!

Sarabeths’s East

Sarabeth’s East is a new restaurant find for me. It’s one of the many great brunch spots on the Upper East Side.  It can be a bit noisy, (it’s definitely kid-friendly) but with the ever pleasing wait staff and speedy team of chefs, you’re in for a delicious meal.

Rolling With Roblé

In just one season, and eight episodes later on the BRAVO network, Chef Roblé Ali is a household name. At age 27, Roblé has cooked for everyone, and I do mean everyone, from President Obama to Mariah Carey. When I was away in Paris, I reached out to Roblé for an in-depth interview.

Feed the Models

Recently I was working abroad at a fashion show, and as you guys know I love to eat so naturally I asked about lunch, but then they directed me here.  You can understand my level of anger and disappointment when I saw only chips, chocolate and a few health bars. Completely unacceptable! I just flew well over 10 hours to cross the Atlantic Ocean with only airplane food to eat. The lack of nutrients at the show combined with long work hours and no lunch or dinner break is not humane — it’s 2012 people! Many in fashion advocate models being healthy but this is far from healthy. I just signed up with the Model Alliance, hopefully this will change in the near future. Can’t wait to join this worthwhile cause.

French Night

Tonight is my first night here in the City of Lights. I’ve always loved coming to Paris for the food, but ordering room service is always tricky. When I tell you my hotel (which remains nameless for security reasons) has served me a meal suited for a supermodel well . . . hahahahaha!

Grilled snapper with spinach done Parisian style, yum.
