The other night I was making gnocchi for the first time, and realize I didn’t need to use all of my potatoes so I saved them for this dish.

Today on 116th Street in Spanish Harlem, I was surprised to find everyone celebrating the Day of Independence for Mexico. Cinco De Mayo is now one of my favorite celebrations. It’s best of both worlds — great cheap street food, cocktails with tequila, and maybe a little more tequila, and oh, I forgot to mention tequila!
